Abstract: Nowadays, health management not only involves ensuring individuals’ access to healthcare services and the efficiency of health systems, but also includes its complex relationship with environmental sustainability. Environmental issues, ranging from air and water pollution to climate change, waste management, and biodiversity loss, directly and indirectly impact human health. Air pollution increases respiratory diseases, while water contamination facilitates the spread of infectious diseases. Global warming intensifies heat waves and the frequency of natural disasters, posing significant threats to public health. Waste management issues and chemical pollutants are linked to cancer and neurological disorders, with particularly severe effects on vulnerable populations. Sustainable policies in healthcare systems play a crucial role in minimizing environmental risks. Efforts such as reducing the carbon footprint of hospitals, implementing green building practices, and utilizing renewable energy sources are key steps in reducing the environmental impact of the healthcare sector. In this context, understanding the interactions between healthcare management and environmental sustainability is essential for protecting and improving public health in the long term. This study aims to examine environmental sustainability from a healthcare management perspective, exploring the intersections between these fields and proposing potential solutions. It is crucial to develop and implement policies that promote environmental sustainability in the health sector. Addressing the interactions between healthcare management and environmental sustainability with a holistic approach will contribute to both protecting human health and ensuring the sustainability of ecosystems.
