Abstract: This study is written on the subject of mahtût mecmuas. Mecmuas, which we can define as personal compilations from various disciplines, are scientific, cultural and historical documents compiled on various disciplines from medicine to theo logy, literature to astronomy in almost every society. Although their authors can be from all segments of society, from physicians to poets, from scholars to simple citizens, they are often not identified and can be edited by more than one author over time. Mecmuas are editions that carry the moment to the present day with personal records such as ferağ records containing person-time-space information, birth-death-joy-sadness, information notes, debt certificates, etc. written on the margins of the pages, especially on the zahriye page. In our country, while ‘Tahkik li Neşir’ centred catalogue work is carried out, it is known that manuscripts are ca talogued in Iran based on ‘Kuyudatlı Neşir’, which is an admirable method. Kuyu dat, which are the notes written in time during the transmission of the works from generation to generation, are extremely important in the dating of the works, in determining the psychosociological conditions of the societies and the important events experienced. Another important point about mecmuas is the fact that these mecmua editions, which we should appreciate, constitute a considerable amount of our rich manuscript collections as well as the manuscript books. With their con tents, where various disciplines are compiled with personal preferences, and the records of the pages between the lines, mecmuas offer a virgin field of study for researchers where productive studies can be carried out. The studies carried out by researchers on our rare book collections, which are the relics of the past and the future, are increasing day by day, and undergraduate and graduate students are also joining this series. In our article, information is given about the unique characteristics of the majmuas, especially the naming of the majmuas, their codi cological characteristics, the languages in which they were written, the subjects in which they were organised, the times of their organisation and their authors. In addition, the work carried out by the Presidency of the Manuscript Works Institu tion in recent years has been encouraging, and the catalogues of libraries across the country and the digital catalogues of the works are accessed much more easily through the portal than in the past. In addition, the classification and cataloguing of the works in terms of disciplines will make the studies on our manuscript col lections, which number in the hundreds of thousands, more efficient. In this dire ction, in our article, important classification studies on mecmuas in the historical flow have been mentioned and a classification proposal has been made in order to make a small contribution to the studies currently being carried out on this subje ct, and exemplifications have been made about the classifications made.
