Abstract: Purpose: The purpose of this study is to understand the impact that cultural stigma has on help seeking attitudes of young Latinx adults in regard to mental health. Methods: Researchers created an online survey to measure the help-seeking attitudes of young, Latinx adults (18-26 years of age) whose cultural mental health stigma may impact their decision to seek services. Results: The study consisted of 59 participants that identified cultural stigma within the Latinx community in regard to individuals receiving mental health services. However, they reported that their culture does not impact their decision to seek services.Discussion and Implications: Cultural stigma is still prevalent within the Latinx community. However, responses gathered were significant in indicating the participants willingness to openly seek mental health services. These results can be used to further educate, engage and provide awareness to the Latinx community on the importance of addressing mental health.
