Abstract: This paper presents a literature review exploring the potential of psychotherapy to enhance attentioncontrol in individuals with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Attention control, encompassingemotional and behavioral regulation, is a critical component of executive function often impaired in ADHD. Bysynthesizing existing studies and integrating clinical insights, this review examines how variouspsychotherapeutic approaches address attention control. The literature was categorized into four themes: 1)verbal approaches; 2) body-sensory approaches; 3) cognitive and behavioral approaches; and 4) approaches thatdirectly target attention control. The findings confirm that methods to improve attention control in ADHD arenot limited to pharmacotherapy and may exist within various psychotherapeutic approaches. Althoughtraditional psychotherapy for ADHD has often focused on addressing secondary disorders, such as depression,or providing behavioral support, this review highlights that conventional psychotherapeutic frameworks mayalso contribute to improving attention control. These perspectives offer new insights and practical directions fortherapists working with individuals with ADHD.Keywords: attention control, executive function, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD),developmental disorder, psychotherapy
