Oil, Gas, and Mineral Industry Role in Rangeland Restoration: A systematic Review
Year: 2025
Type: review
Abstract: The oil, gas, and mineral (OGM) industry is the largest user of rangelands in many countries, causing significant environmental impacts such as reduced biodiversity, loss of vegetation, and increased carbon emissions. Despite advances in renewable energy, fossil fuel production continues to grow, worsening these issues. This paper provides an overview of the OGM industry's role in rangeland restoration in the WAME region, focusing on sustainable practices and stakeholder responsibilities.
