Abstract: On 19-23 August 2024, the University of Helsinki, in collaboration with the University of Turku and the International Council of Onomastic Sciences, hosted yet again the International Congress of Onomastic Sciences, which brought together onomasticians from all over the world. The theme of the congress was “SUSTAINABILITY OF NAMES, NAMING AND ONOMASTICS”, as it was focused on the topical issues of sustainable development in the field of onomastics and naming processes. The main focus of the conference was on the consideration of social, cultural, environmental and linguistic aspects of the proper names functioning in the modern globalized world.
