Abstract: This geometric piece was created with the intention of using line to explore the idea of a compelling composition. The small lines arranged in squares in the background, with varying density, allow for more depth to the piece. The shapes around the composition, seemingly coming out of a portal in the top left corner, increase in both size and detail as they seem to come forward. I wanted to use these aspects in order to create a composition with lots of movement and interest, even without the use of colors. I really enjoyed creating this piece and feel as though my understanding of how to use line has grown greatly through this project.
