Volumetrični posebni učinki v igrah
Year: 2025
Type: dissertation
Abstract: Video game special effects are usually created using sprites or simplistic triangle meshes with added textures, which is a good compromise between performance and quality. This diploma thesis focuses on implementing a real-time 3D volumetric special effect of an explosion to significantly enhance realism in video games. With the development of new technologies like WebGPU for web environments, it sets a new standard for high-performance computer graphics. The contribution of this thesis is demonstrating that we can effectively support complex physical simulations in real time, opening up new possibilities for the development of more interactive and immersive applications and video games. This advancement shows a possible future of volumetric special effects.
