Personal health data: visualization modalities and their perceived values

Abstract: In this paper we focus on universal human values as defined by Schwartz [Schw92] in the context of visualizing \npersonal health data. Can data visualizations convey human values? We have explored various modalities of \npresenting health data and found that personal health visualizations indeed can convey values. This is currently \nwork in progress, an initial step towards value-based design in the area of data visualization of personal health \ndata.
