Abstract: There is an extensive literature that supports the importance of Attachment Theory. \nIn this sense, this essay delves into the influence of this theory in psychotherapy, highlighting \nthe therapeutic space as a privileged environment for the repair of insecure attachment \nbonds. It emphasizes the importance of establishing a secure base that frames the \nrelationship, as well as tailoring the intervention to the patient's attachment style and \naddressing the relational dynamics themselves. In addition, the research highlights the \ntherapeutic value of exploring the person's past experiences in a context of safety and trust. \nThe results indicate the crucial role of the therapeutic relationship in the repair of attachment \nbonds, which has a significant impact on treatment success. In conclusion, it has been shown \nthat the therapist must become an expert capable of adapting his intervention to the style of \neach patient, taking into account his particularities in attachment. Thus, the relationship will \nbe a corrective emotional experience for the individual that will allow him to develop an \nintegrated sense of his own self. In the future, it would be interesting to have longitudinal \nstudies of the effects of AT-based psychotherapy, as well as intervention protocols adapted to \neach attachment style.
