Abstract: This article is dedicated to the current state of female crime in Ukraine. It is marked that today, female crime is a significant issue in our society. The author highlights two spheres of social life where women commit criminal violations; namely, the household sphere and the professional sphere, where a woman works and performs professional functions connected with the possibility of free access to valuable property. Female crime – is a set of crimes connected by female individuals within a specific territory over a certain period. In Ukraine, there is a growing tendency of violent criminals committed by women. The author provides statistics on female crime in Ukraine, based on reports about individuals who committed criminal offenses, given by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine for 2024. It has been estimated that the number registed criminal offenses has increased by 18.7 times per year and the number of criminal felonies has increased by 48.3 times per year. This indicates a steady upward trend in female crime during 2024. One of the main factors contributing to this rise is Russia’s war against Ukraine, which has been ongoing for three years. Many crimes involve collaboration with the enemy, treason, intelligence leaks regarding the movement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and cooperation with Russian authorities in occupied territories, all committed by women. The author concludes that two primary factors have influenced the rise in female crime: the absence of men, as a significant part of them have been mobilized into the Ukrainian Armed Forces; the pursuit of “easy money,” which has led some women to collaborate with the enemy. The article outlines several key features of female crime in modern Ukraine: a relatively small share of female crime within overall crime rates; a rising trend in violent crimes committed by women; an increase in female crime triggered by the war with Russia; a higher number of criminal cases against women for collaboration and treason. This alarming trend requires immediate intervention from the government and law enforcement authorities, as well as the development of state-level preventive measures aimed at reducing female crime in Ukraine.
