Improving Wireless Communication Reliability through Equalization Techniques: A Performance Comparison
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: With the growing demand for high-speed data rates in wireless communication, ensuring system reliability is crucial. However, no communication system can achieve 100% reliability due to various channel impairments that distort transmitted signals at the receiver. To improve the quality of communication between the sender and receiver, effective techniques are required to mitigate the impact of channel distortions and minimize errors. Among these techniques, diversity and equalization methods are commonly employed to counteract channel effects and enhance signal quality at the receiver. This paper explores different equalization techniques used to reduce channel impairments. A comparative analysis of linear and non-linear equalizers based on Bit Error Rate (BER) is conducted using MATLAB simulations, providing valuable insights into their performance and effectiveness in improving wireless communication.
