Abstract: This paper offers a response to three excellent reviews of The Other of Climate Change. It addresses reviewers' concerns by clarifying how Hall's ideas of 'race' can be used to help ascertain the way 'race', as a system of meaning, organises the wider political discourse on climate change and human migration.
