Résider à proximité du littoral : Nouvelles configurations territoriales et stratégies résidentielles, l’exemple de Quiberon
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Coastal tourist areas have been very popular for about fifteen years and tend to specialize in a tourist and residential economy. This desire for a residential setting close to the sea has greatly increased land and real estate pressure and triggered forms of gentrification and exclusion of modest populations. The coastal territories are crossed by a double process of construction from and for the outside, due to the importance of exogenous flows – both at the demographic and economic level – which is accompanied by a renewal of forms of local anchoring in the relationship to territories. Local tensions around access to housing are crucial and raise the question of the conditions of cohabitation of different modes of living, more or less perennial in these territories. The research, based on the example of Quiberon in Morbihan, shows the development of highly territorialized social networks, where belonging to the place is presented as a determining element for access to an informal rental market.
