Abstract: Schizophrenia is based on three symptoms: negative, positive and disorganization. Each of these components has consequences for language pragmatics, affecting social cognition and narrative structure in particular. According to the literature, patients with this disease present specificities in the three dimensions of narrative: macrostructure, microstructure and internal state language. By means of an analysis grid used by Drzazga (2022) and a picture-based narrative test derived from the PELEA, we analyzed the discourse of 8 participants with schizophrenic illness without intellectual disability. The data were compared with those of 8 participants with no psychiatric pathology. The results revealed specific macro- and microstructural features in participants with schizophrenia: their narratives were less coherent than those of the control group, and they used more indefinite noun phrases. On the other hand, no particularities were detected in the internal state language. The daily functioning of these participants was collected by means of a questionnaire, but the results obtained did not shed any light on the narrative difficulties observed.
