Abstract: The problematic field of the article is formed around one of the cornerstone ideas of the meta- modernist project, which aims to comprehend the complex moral and psychological states of a person, actualizing such issues as truth, sincerity, politics, and rhetoric. At the same time, supporters of metamodernism do not ignore the concept of «post-truth», which is a purely metamodernist formation. The purpose of the article is to summarize the developments in Ukrainian humanities regarding the metamodernist model of culture creation, to outline the theoretical potential of a number of new concepts, in particular, the dichotomy «truth – post-truth», which are actually being introduced into use, as well as the expediency of using specific forms of «comic» in the reconstruction of the logic of the movement of modern culture. The following methods were used in the research process: the principle of historicism, whose potential made it possible to show the complex transformational processes caused by the realities of today; an integrated approach that contributed to the articulation of the patterns of modern cultural transformations; interdisciplinary approach – a kind of «theoretical and methodological tuning fork» in the field of humanitarian knowledge of the twenty-first century, conceptual pluralism, which opened up opportunities for the content of the research, the integration principle, which prompted the co-optation of modern cultural theories within the scope of this article. The key novelties of the study present a new perspective on the phenomenon of creativity in the era of metamodernism, new aspects in the argumentation of the problematic nature of creating «extra-elements» of artistic works; the study of S. Brause «Between Truth, Sincerity, and Satire», introduced into the research field of Ukrainian humanities. S. Brause’s «Between Truth, Sincerity, and Satire: The Politics of Post-Truth and the Rhetoric of Authenticity» (2018), emphasizing his scientific position, which helps to understand the rather artificial metamodernist constructions, and showing that the ideologues of metamodernism chose the connection of the concepts «irony –postirony – satire» as its cornerstone feature both as a new type of culture in general and as the basis of literary and artistic practices. Conclusions. It is argued that metamodernism in the current century is developing as a multilevel structure that does not claim to be integral, since it is formed from numerous author’s models, in particular, the research introduced into the research field of Ukrainian humanities by S. Brause; both the process of «adding» new concepts (post-truth) and attempts to operate with them in contact with already widely known ones, trying to enrich the «known» with elements of innovative content: plausibility + depth = «depth-like» are reproduced. The use of comparative analysis allowed us to identify the potential of the concept of «truth», which is not always opposed by another concept, in particular, «post-truth». If the need for confrontation seems necessary, the concepts that interact with it in a creative and searching way are «truth» and «fact». Since the theoretical foundations of metamodern culture are only being formed, attention to the ways of this formation should obviously be constant on the part of Ukrainian humanities.
