Abstract: This study aimed to evaluate the performance of the Libyan stock market، andits impact on economic development، during the period (2008-2024). A descriptive an alytical approach was used، along with a quantitative approach، where simple andmultiple linear regression were used to measure the relationship between financial market performance indicators as independent variables، and gross domestic product as the dependent variable. This study found weak and declining financial market performance indicators resulting from repeated trading interruptions due to the economic and political conditions، that Libyan economy has been experiencing since 2011. The results of the multiple regression also indicated that the Libyan stock market has no role in economic development. ● Key words: Libyan stock market، Economic Development، Trading value
