Abstract: This article discusses the mirab profession, one of the important professions in the Central Asian khanates, the Soviet era, and the years of independence. In the article, the author focuses on the word "mirab", its etymology, the secrets of this profession, and the changes that occurred in the activities of mirabs in Uzbekistan in the 19th-21st centuries.
