Emotional Peace Theory
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Emotional Peace Theory investigates the emotional self, the nexus where instincts, cognition, and biological processes are expressed as feelings, motivations, and reactions. The theory examines how peace and conflict manifest within emotional dynamics, emphasizing that emotional harmony arises from acknowledging, integrating, and regulating competing emotions—joy, sorrow, love, anger, and fear—while emotional fragmentation fuels cycles of internal and external violence. Using the Ownviewist framework, Emotional Peace Theory analyzes the Ring of Peace, where emotions interact constructively to guide decision-making, empathy, and social cooperation, and contrasts it with the Cycle of Violence, where unchecked emotions lead to suffering, relational breakdown, and social instability. This theory elucidates how emotional awareness and management create a foundation for psychological resilience, interpersonal harmony, and collective well-being, highlighting the central role of emotions in shaping both personal and societal peace.
