Wooden Orthodox Churches on the Polish-ukrainian Borderland at the Turn of the Xxth and Xxist Century
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: It has been thirty-five years since I began research on wooden Orthodox church architecture. This research, conducted first in Poland and later in western Ukraine, has accumulated a great deal of material for analysis and comparison. The turn of the century can be seen here as an opportunity to compare the state of preservation of this architecture then and now, and the causes of the negative changes occurring in it. This will allow the development of academic and practical methods for the conservation of this common Polish-Ukrainian cultural heritage.
