Functional Coherence Theory: Advances in the Emergence of Space-Time and Matter-Energy

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This work represents a distinct conceptual evolution of the Universal Functional Coherence Theory (UFCT). It focuses on four fundamental laws — the master dynamic law, the quantization of functional time, the crystallization of mass, and the structural equilibrium of space — while presenting numerical estimates for the minimal functional tick of time across different regimes, from the Planck scale to experimentally accessible systems such as Bose–Einstein condensates and metamaterials . Although clearly an advanced study, its methodology is more phenomenological — postulating laws directly — in contrast with the more fundamental variational approach developed in UFCT 4.0. It can thus be seen as an exploratory branch of the theory, oriented toward generating direct experimental predictions, while other documents pursue a path of greater mathematical rigor in field-theoretic foundations. The article introduces the principle of quantized functional time, where reality unfolds in discrete ticks of coherence loss, and the principle of mass crystallization, which explains mass as the accumulated fixation of coherence above a critical threshold. It recovers the Planck time as a special case but predicts that discreteness may also manifest at attosecond and zeptosecond scales, within reach of ultrafast photonics. Moreover, it interprets cosmological structures as fractal equilibria of coherence, with universal dimension d_f ≈ 4.125. By combining unification, phenomenological clarity, and testability, this work highlights the potential of the UFCT to move beyond theoretical speculation and into the domain of empirical verification, offering a complementary perspective within the broader development of the theory.
