Potential Effects of Earth's Moon on Ice, Water, and Aquatic Life Production and the Limitations for Human Life on Mars

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This research explores the crucial role of the Earth’s Moon in regulating water, ice, and aquatic life production on our planet. The Moon’s gravitational pull and energy significantly influence tidal patterns, water micro-currents, and ice formation, particularly during full moon nights. During these periods, aquatic organisms such as fish show increased reproductive activity, and even polar regions experience enhanced ice production. In contrast, Mars’ small moons, Phobos and Deimos, are incapable of generating sufficient night light or tidal effects, making water production and the sustenance of aquatic life virtually impossible on Mars. This study highlights the uniqueness of the Earth-Moon system in supporting life and emphasizes why similar ecological processes cannot occur on Mars, limiting the potential for human habitation.
