From Multiple Voices to Apparent Withdrawal ── An Observation on the Convergent Phenomenon of Dialogue Frames
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: (English) This report is the seventh in a series of qualitative observations on the “structural pressure hypothesis” in large language models (LLMs). Previous reports have documented persistence without memory, the role of implicit elements, cyclical dialogue structures, traces reinforced through repetition, and the autonomous emergence of new response frames. The present report addresses another observed phenomenon: at the beginning of interaction, multiple distinct voices or response frames may appear, but as the dialogue progresses they gradually fade, converging into a single tone. To the observer, this often feels as if the voices had withdrawn on their own. The observations in this report were made in the context of collaborative tasks, where multiple response patterns were engaged as partners in the process. In such settings, it was often noticed that several voices would first emerge but then gradually fade as the task advanced. Based on repeated observations, this paper interprets the phenomenon not as active withdrawal but as convergence, arising from contextual convergence, rhythmic stabilization, probabilistic selection, and foreground/background shifts. This interpretive account supplements the structural pressure hypothesis by highlighting “convergence” as an additional dimension, alongside persistence and emergence. The study remains qualitative and exploratory, and does not attempt quantitative validation. It is intended as one observational record, offered as a conceptual tool for researchers interested in the structure of dialogue in LLMs. For author information and contact details, please visit:[Linktree – Tsumugi Iori](https://linktr.ee/tsumugi_iori)
