The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Modern Medicine: a Short Review
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the world, and medicine is no exception. From smart devices that track our heart rates to AI-powered robots assisting in surgery, technology is transforming how doctors work and how patients receive care. While there are significant benefits of AI in medicine, there are also serious risks that cannot be ignored. This paper explores both the positive and negative aspects of AI’s inclusion in medicine. It explores how AI can quicken diagnosis, improve treatment plans, and prepare more efficient hospital systems. It also discusses how it can pose privacy threats, increase dependency on machines, and sometimes even make mistakes. This paper also presents real-world examples, assesses how AI integrates with the broad healthcare system, and attempts to explain how we can better harness the benefits of AI while still protecting human lives and ethical values.
