Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article extensively analyzes the process of forming the concept, its psychological and cognitive role in consciousness, and thinking. The emergence of a concept as a mental image and the participation of associative, logical, and emotional mechanisms of human thinking in this process are covered on a separate scientific basis. Also, the formation of language units through a concept, cognitive operations occurring in the process of inner (inner) speech, and the mechanisms of their transfer to external speech are explained from a psycholinguistic point of view. The article also extensively reveals the role of inner speech in the selection of language units and the formation of linguistic structures, as well as the influence of concepts on the process of grammatical formation. The conceptual foundations of language units at the phonetic, lexical, grammatical, and syntactic levels are considered, and their role in the language system is theoretically substantiated. In addition, the cultural and national characteristics of concepts, their different reflection in the minds of language speakers, concepts such as conceptual field and conceptual metaphor are also discussed. It is shown that the process of linguistic expression of a concept is not limited only to grammatical forms, but is also closely related to syntactic construction, stylistic means, and contextual conditions. As a result, the article analyzes the psycholinguistic, cognitive, and linguistic properties of the concept harmoniously and substantiates the theoretical and practical importance of studying the concept in linguistics.
