Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Measures of Center and Measures of Spread lesson is an instructional resource designed to help students apply statistical concepts to biological data analysis. Through real-world examples. students practice calculating and interpreting key descriptive statistics, including mean, median, mode, range, quartiles, and standard deviation. The activity incorporates the use of MS Excel and the TI-84 Plus calculator, allowing students to strengthen both technological and analytical skills. By connecting statistical methods to authentic biological contexts, this resource supports the development of critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and data literacy essential for STEM education.
