ProFolio: An Intelligent Resume and Portfolio Builder using MERN Stack

Abstract: The creative, flexible and personalized brand of the applicant is mostly not clearly expressed in paper resumes, which is why they are rarely used in the job market these days where competition is intense. Current tools are mostly based on resume or portfolio development, with little integration and contact with recruiters. The current paper proposes ProFolio, a smart system of creating resumes and portfolios with the help of the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js). ProFolio offers templates that can be customized, a drag and drop, multimedia and real time update with adjustable visibility options. Administrators can ensure the integrity of the system, whereas recruiters are able to search through the candidate profiles, add them to the bookmark and start direct communication. The platform includes cloud-based storage facilities, multi-factor authentication (local, Google, GitHub) and analytics dashboards as well as AI-generated optimization recommendations. The preliminary tests of ProFolio have shown that it saves time on making a resume, increases customization, and recruiter interaction. The paper explains the architecture and implementation of the system as compared to currently used ones and emphasize its potential as an integrated platform that would be used by prospective job seekers and recruiters alike.
