Antecedents and Consequences of Employee Performance: Evidence from District Education Officers in Punjab's Public Education Sector"

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This research paper examines how workload, work motivation, and transformational leadership influence the performance of District Education Officers (DEOs) in Punjab's public education sector. Using a quantitative survey of 50 DEOs, the study analyzes the relationships between these factors and employee performance, as well as the impact of performance on organizational learning, commitment, and job satisfaction. Results highlight transformational leadership as a key driver of performance, which in turn strongly affects organizational commitment and learning, while job satisfaction shows less connection to performance. The paper emphasizes the importance of leadership development to improve educational administration effectiveness in resource-constrained public sector settings.
