Advancements in animal disease diagnosis: a new era of precision
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Animal diseases are a major crucial factor for reducing livestock productivity especially in developing countries like India. Millions of animals around the world, especially in developing countries, are affected every year by infectious pathogens (Lane et al., 2025). Inadequate therapeutic measures, insufficient planning and management and above all lack of accurate diagnostic measures result in repeated outbreak of such diseases. Tests for the specific diagnosis are of two type’s viz., tests that demonstrate the presence of the infectious agent, major antigens expressed by the agent or its nucleic acid (Kumar and Kumar, 2025). Therefore, the development and adoption of rapid, accurate, and sensitive diagnostic methods for the identification of infectious pathogens play key role in treatment and control of infectious diseases.
