Pengaruh Volatilitas Harga Energi terhadap Biaya Produksi Industri Petrokimia di Indonesia: Studi Menggunakan Data Harga Input LSEG dan Studi Kasus PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (TPIA)
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Global energy price volatility is a major challenge for the petrochemical industry, which is highly dependent on crude oil, naphtha, and natural gas. This research analyzes the impact of energy price fluctuations on the production costs of PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (TPIA) as a representation of the Indonesian petrochemical industry. Energy price data from LSEG (Brent, WTI, Naphtha, and Henry Hub Natural Gas) and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression. The results show that all energy price variables have a significant positive relationship with COGS, with naphtha being the most dominant factor. These findings underscore that global energy market dynamics not only affect short-term operational costs but also long-term business strategies and the competitiveness of the national petrochemical industry. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of energy risk mitigation strategies for companies and adaptive energy policies for the government.
