Abstract: The article provides information on the ancient Punuk settlement in the area of Cliff Kozhevnikov (Cape Shmidt, Iultin District of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug). The ancient settlement in the area was first discovered by the polar explorer A. E. Nordenskiold in the 19th century. In the late 1950s and the mid-1970s, the archaeologist N. N. Dikov studied ancient Eskimo graves and dwellings. In 1976, prospected the western coast, T. S. Tein dug a test pit in one of the semisubterranean dwelling in the settlement. The works resulted in the materials never published by T. S. Tein and presented in this article. The collection includes stone, bone, and wooden tools and artifacts, mostly characteristic for the Punuk culture. The dwelling inhabitants were sea hunters. The materials complement the understanding of the Punuk culture in Northern Chukotka and the tool kit of the settlement.
