Operational Support for Evolving Dark Energy: The R≈1 Gate
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This deposition introduces a preregistered R≈1 band test to support evolving–dark-energy studies. The method fixes a single load proxy W_sigma(z), defines a narrow band around unity, and makes engage / dwell / disengage calls without post-hoc tuning. Proxy robustness is evaluated by swapping in a void-fraction baseline with identical thresholds, and falsifiability is enforced through shuffle (of W(z) labels) and jackknife (over survey fields) nulls. Plateau/step checks and a timed directive–to–material handoff (burst/trail) round out the procedure.Outputs—engage redshift, dwell length, disengage redshift, thresholds, and proxy/null pass–fail—drop directly into the UChicago “Is dark energy evolving?” program and the Shajib–Frieman scalar-field modeling/forecast pipeline, enabling consistent cross-dataset auditing without retuning.
