Intentional Communication Framework (ICF)
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The Intentional Communication Framework (ICF) is a practical loop for making every exchange clearer, sharper, and more effective. Instead of defaulting to autopilot, ICF encourages pausing to clarify goals—whether to Share (information), Connect (emotion), or Direct (action). By matching strategy to purpose, anticipating responses, and checking for payoff, communicators can reduce noise, prevent misfires, and speak with intention. Drawing from product management, UX research, and relationship dynamics, ICF distills lessons into a repeatable cycle that strengthens clarity, influence, and connection across conversations, texts, emails, and even non-verbal signals.
