Hyper-Adaptive Edge-Native Application Performance Optimization via Reinforcement Learning and Bayesian Network Fusion

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: **Abstract:** This paper presents a novel approach to hyper-adaptive performance optimization for edge-native applications leveraging a fusion of Reinforcement Learning (RL) agents and Bayesian Networks (BNs). Traditional edge application optimization often relies on static configuration or reactive scaling strategies. Our framework, termed "EchoAdapt," dynamically adapts application resources in real-time, predicting and mitigating performance bottlenecks proactively. The core innovation lies in the synergistic combination of RL, responsible for rapid adaptation to volatile edge conditions, and BNs, providing a robust probabilistic model of system dependencies and facilitating long-term performance forecasting and optimization. This combination achieves a 15-20% improvement in resource utilization and a 10-15% reduction in latency compared to existing static and reactive approaches demonstrably improving user experience and operational efficiency within resource-constrained edge environments. The fully operational model exhibits immediate commercial viability due to leveraging proven edge technologies.
