Digital Depths: Securing Subsea Infrastructure in a High-Tech Era.
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This essay focuses on some of the technological elements of subsea infrastructure security with a focus on subsea cables, rather than the technology that underpins the operation, maintenance, and functioning of these systems. This will initially explore the threat landscape before looking at some of the current and emergent technologies in this space and their utility. While technology plays an important role in securing subsea infrastructure, a well-trained and capable human component is required to operate it, process and analyze information, and coordinate and respond to potential threats.
