Pl., ed. 4. 1: 13 (1797), orth. var. illeg., Phrynium myrosma Roscoe (1827:11) nom. superfl., Maranta myrosma Dietrich (1831: 136) nom. superfl. illeg., Calathea myrosma Körnicke (1858: 87) nom superfl. illeg., Phyllodes myrosma Kuntze (1891: 696) nom. superfl. illeg. Type: — SURINAME: without locality or date, C.G. Dahlberg 120 (as 121), ‘Herb. Linn. 5.1, Myrisma’ (lectotype selected by Vieira et al. 2012: LINN 5.1 Photo!).
