Geothermal housing system for Dairy animals: Modern Approach
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The well-being, health, and productivity of dairy cattle are significantly impacted by their housing. Beyond providing protection from harsh weather, well-designed systems create a comfortable microclimate, supporting optimal growth, milk production, and reproductive success. Traditionally, dairy farms in India and globally have utilized conventional housing systems that depend on fans, mechanical ventilation, or fuel-based heating and cooling units. While effective to some degree, these systems are often energy-intensive, costly to maintain, and environmentally unsustainable.
