Development of a solar-powered smart wheelchair

Abstract: A self-propelled wheelchair that will aid the physically challenged with mobility and the aged who are challenged with mobility was developed. The smart wheelchair aims to help them by giving them the freedom to engage with their environment and improve their standard of living. A device that was able to measure the temperature of the atmosphere was incorporated as well as a universal serial bus and a means of illumination incorporated into the wheelchair. It has a solar power generation system that serves as the power source for the electric motor which propels the wheelchair, and a control system that controls the movement and the navigation of the wheelchair.
