The Architecture of Nosql Databases in Big Data Environments: a Review

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The rapid growth of data in recent years has led to challenges in processing and managing large volumes of information, particularly unstructured data. Traditional structured databases face limitations when handling such data due to its scale, giving rise to the concept of Big Data. To effectively manage and analyze Big Data, new architectures and methods are required. This paper reviews the features of Big Data and examines four available NoSQL architectures designed for its management. The study discusses the strengths, weaknesses, and various types of NoSQL databases, highlighting their suitability for handling unstructured and large-scale datasets. The review provides insights into the evolving landscape of database technologies and their role in addressing the challenges posed by Big Data
