SQG-Bio: A Unified Evolutionary Framework

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Description:The SQG-Bio framework presents a novel unification of cosmic and biological evolution, modeling the progression from the Big Bang (13.8 billion years ago) to Homo sapiens (300 kya) as a single stochastic continuum driven by quantum-emergent continuous-time Markov chain (CTMC) processes. Unlike traditional models such as RNA-world (Szostak, 2017), autocatalytic sets (Eigen, 1971; Kauffman, 1993), or punctuated equilibrium (Gould & Eldredge, 1977), SQG-Bio integrates cosmic, chemical, and biological phases under quantum-physical constraints. Using the Motion-Based Framework’s density scaling (ρ^0.27), the model predicts statistically inevitable evolutionary leaps such as the emergence of DNA and multicellularity. This reframes evolution as a physics-constrained process, shifting the philosophical paradigm from contingency to necessity (Monod, 1971) and suggesting universal life trajectories across cosmic environments. Simulations model key phases, including water formation (13.6 Bya), proto-microbe-to-DNA transitions (4.1–3.8 Bya), and later milestones (plants, fish, mammals, humans), achieving 95–98% alignment with fossil and chemical evidence (Allwood et al., 2006; Patel et al., 2015; Hublin et al., 2017). The CTMC network incorporates 10 million atoms, with metrics for modularity (Q), diversity (D), and efficiency (E), validated through sensitivity analysis (<2% variation) and bootstrap distributions (n=1000). Figures included in the paper visualize combined and individual metric trends, fossil alignment timelines, and bootstrap distributions for proto-life, DNA, and human phases. SQG-Bio also offers testable laboratory predictions, including RNA-to-DNA transitions under CTMC conditions and cosmic ray-induced isotope shifts, alongside illustrative hypotheses for cognitive evolution (e.g., Broca’s area and tool innovation) that require further validation. Code and data are openly available, ensuring reproducibility and compliance with open-science practices.
