Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article consolidates the official specifications of commemorative coins and medals issued to celebrate His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary (72 years) on 28 July 2024. It details five commemorative coin types, three commemorative medal types, and the ribboned silver commemorative coin, covering face values, compositions, weights, diameters, mintages, selling/exchange prices, as well as obverse–reverse designs and the symbolism of the ribbon (royal grace, the King’s birthday color and the Queen’s birthday color). The article records the official issue date (24 July 2024) for historical, numismatic and cultural reference. It further explains the Thai cultural notion of the “sixth cycle” (6 × 12-year cycles = 72 years), underscoring the elevated significance of the occasion within Thai tradition.
