Informational Realism: A Post-Geometric Framework for Unification

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This preprint introduces Informational Realism, a post-geometric framework for unifying General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics. The central postulate is that quantum information forms the fundamental ontology of reality, with spacetime, matter, and physical laws emerging as macroscopic approximations of an underlying informational network. Within this approach, gravity is derived as an entropic force generated by entanglement density gradients. The framework addresses longstanding paradoxes: the black hole information problem, the cosmological constant discrepancy, and the problem of time, demonstrating how both relativity and quantum mechanics can be understood as effective theories of a deeper informational substrate. Key theoretical results include: A derivation of spacetime geometry from mutual information structures. A thermodynamic origin of gravity consistent with Jacobson’s principle. A holographic suppression of vacuum energy, yielding $\rho_\Lambda \sim H^2/G$. The work also presents testable predictions, including oscillatory corrections in the CMB power spectrum, entanglement entropy deviations observable in Bose–Einstein condensates, and entanglement-induced tidal deformability shifts in neutron star mergers detectable by gravitational wave observatories. This preprint positions Informational Realism as a concrete, falsifiable step toward a unified description of physics, bridging quantum information, thermodynamics, and geometry.
