A Comprehensive Research, Development, and Innovation Roadmap for the Hempoxies Platform
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This document presents a complete research and development roadmap for the ”Hempoxies” material platform, a six-component, catalyst-free vitrimer bionanocomposite derived from Cannabis sativa. The plan is structured as a comprehensive, multi-part investigation designed to take the concept from theoretical principles to a fully characterized, application-ready smart material ecosystem. The investigation begins with the core validation of synthesis, mechanical performance, recyclability, and carbon footprint. It then expands dramatically to probe a wide array of advanced properties, including self-healing, piezoresistive sensing, environmental durability, and ballistic resistance. The roadmap incorporates cutting-edge research paths for advanced manufacturing, computational modeling, complete end-of-life analysis, and techno-economic viability. Finally, two transformative innovation paths are detailed: one for creating bioactive medical composites and another for developing novel, carbon-sequestering syntactic foams. This document serves as an exhaustive blueprint for pioneering a new class of high-performance, circular, and intelligent materials.
