The Principle of Collapse and Renewal: A Cross-Domain Operator for Systemic Outcomes
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This manuscript is released as Stage One of a multi-stage project. It introduces the Principle of Collapse and Renewal, a cross-domain operator formalised as: O = \Delta C - \Delta S where systemic outcomes are determined by the balance between external stress (ΔS) and internal capacity (ΔC). Stage One provides the conceptual framework, philosophical grounding, and illustrative cases. It is intended as a flag-plant to establish the principle within complex systems science and philosophy. Stage Two (forthcoming) will include: A full dataset of 1,500 coded cases across history, ecology, economics, technology, and physical systems. A detailed coding manual, proxy anchors, and Quality-of-Data rubric. Robustness tests, adversarial sign-flip attempts, and replication scripts. An extended philosophical essay elaborating Constitutional Post-Existentialism. This staged approach allows the principle to be circulated and cited immediately, while ensuring that the empirical and philosophical extensions follow with full documentation.
