Abstract: This thesis examines the life and ministry of the Rev. Devereux Jarratt, placing him in the context of his Anglican ministry in Virginia and his support for the burgeoning Methodist movement. It argues for a more proper understanding of his ministry as an Anglican in spite of being largely remembered solely by Methodist scholarship.
