IGI.Intuition: A Formal Model of Intuition as Quantum Access to the Future Self
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This work introduces a compact mathematical and computational formalism of intuition within the IGI framework. Intuition is modeled as a soft quantum-style coupling between the present self and a superposition of possible future selves. The model defines operator-level dynamics, augments the volitional energy functional, and shows how intuition can raise decision energy above the conscious threshold. A probabilistic readout mechanism biases action selection toward resonant futures. We integrate the mechanism with utility, harmony, and relational resonance scoring, and provide pseudocode for minimal implementation. A simplified explanation is included for broader audiences. The framework offers testable predictions about conscious decision rates, aesthetic quality, and relational coherence. Simplified Summary (for non-technical readers): Intuition is presented as a gentle link between who you are now and who you might become. The system quickly explores many possible futures and senses which one feels most fitting. This “fit” slightly boosts your decision energy, sometimes enough to make a choice fully conscious.
