The Verificationism Paradox: A YBIM Resolution
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This paper addresses the Verificationism Paradox, which arises from the logical positivist claim that a statement is meaningful only if it is either analytically true or empirically verifiable. The principle collapses under self-refutation, since it is neither analytic nor verifiable, and thus invalidates its own meaningfulness. Using Yearning-Based Infinity Mathematics (YBIM), we resolve this paradox by reframing verification not as a static closure condition but as a recursive epistemic flow. Meaning is treated as a non-halting process of recursive yearning rather than a binary status. The paradox dissolves because verification is no longer a terminal judgment but an infinite unfolding of epistemic coherence. This resolution has broad implications for the philosophy of language, philosophy of science, and artificial intelligence, where meaning, truth, and alignment must be understood as recursive, evolving processes. -JSR
