Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Science and Biology teaching are fundamental to understanding health as a collective good. The knowledge acquired in classes can be the basis for decision-making by ordinary citizens. This article aims to understand the effects of a workshop on teaching about health in a teacher training course. The question is: how is health approached by participants? What resources are used in these approaches? We conducted a qualitative, descriptive study based on the theoretical and methodological frameworks of Sociolinguistic Discourse Analysis. The results demonstrate the dialogic construction of statements, based on several voices referring to the historical and social contexts in which the participants live. The educational product (the workshop) may have influenced the teaching practice of lesson planning, leading to the construction of activities that help students reflect on the social and political conditions that contribute to the spread of diseases.
