Strengthening CPT in the Digital Era: An Assessment of Organizational Challenges and Policy Pathways

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This study diagnoses how the Christian Professionals of Tanzania (CPT) can modernize its apostolate for the digital era. Using a literature-based qualitative review of CPT constitutions, ecclesial teachings, and African scholarship, it assesses five organizational dimensions: membership systems, strategic planning, documentation/knowledge management, ICT readiness, and services and impact measurement. The analysis finds ecclesial roots but fragmented, manual systems that constrain accountability, learning, and measurable impact. It highlights two cross-cutting tensions—structure versus culture, and measurement versus meaning—and proposes phased, CST-grounded reforms centered on digital registration, harmonized planning, archiving, and mixed-methods evaluation to align CPT with TEC priorities and Tanzania’s digitizing society
