Abstract: ABSTRACT Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) is a newly emerged disease following the outbreak of COVID-19. We report 48 children with a mean age of 4.5 years who fulfilled MIS-C WHO criteria. The male-to-female ratio was 1.4:1. Affected children had fever (100%) diarrhea (52%), vomiting (39.6%), shock (35.4%) followed by mucocutaneous manifestations conjunctival congestion in (29.2%), mucosal erythema in (22.9%), and 83.3% of children had lymphocytopenia. The majority of the children had elevated CRP, ESR, serum ferritin, and deranged coagulation profiles. Intensive care treatment was required for all the cases (100%). There were no deaths. Children with Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) associated with MIS-C can present with a wide range of signs and symptoms. They can deteriorate quickly and hence have a high index of suspicion; early referral and early initiation of treatment with steroids and IVIg can save the lives of children with MIS-C.
